Billing
Billing starts on the case, because that is where the work happened. You raise the fee memo against the case and send the finished entry through to Tally or Zoho. Tulip does not try to become your accounts system or replace the people who run it.
What it is
A fee memo raised where the work happened, passed on to your accounts software.
What it is not
It is not accounting software, it is not a replacement for your accounts team, and it does not file anything for you.
Why it starts on the case
Work that is billed weeks later is billed from memory, and billing from memory loses money. Raising the memo against the case, while the case is open, is simply the point at which the information is still accurate.
It goes where your money already lives
The finished entry goes through to Tally or Zoho. Your accounts team carries on in the system they know. Nobody is asked to learn new accounting software in order to run a law firm.

- Do we have to move off Tally?
- No. Tally stays Tally. Tulip sends the finished entry across.
- Does Tulip handle tax filing?
- No. That stays with your accounts team and their software.
- Can we see what is unbilled?
- Yes. Cases with work done and no fee memo raised are visible to the people who should be looking.
